Root Canal

Inside of a tooth, past the enamel and dentin, lies soft tissue called pulp. Pulp contains nerves, connective tissues, and blood vessels to help grow the root of your tooth during early development. That pulp can get infected or inflamed for a multitude of reasons: a crack or chip in the tooth, deep decay, or another injury. Leaving the infected or inflamed pulp alone could lead to an abscess and cause quite a bit of pain. So, to remove the pulp, one must undergo a root canal.
